About: Angelina Diassiti, PhD

I was born and raised in Athens, Greece and I completed my university education in the UK. I am a biologist by training, I have a PhD in immunology, and laboratory-based medical research experience. I recently discovered the world of clinical research in my position as manager and clinical research coordinator at a specialist clinic.
I have found a perfect alignment of my skills and interests in the clinical research field. Helping patients access life-altering medications is my motivation, and constantly improving my skills and knowledge to make that happen is my goal.
I am currently supporting research sites with streamlining their processes and optimizing their operations. I help them launch into clinical research, or with adding more complex trials to their portfolio. I have developed robust systems for organizing regulatory documents and for ensuring that everything is in place before the site gets greenlit for a study. I offer guidance on establishing best practices for clinical research operations, and on being inspection-ready.
I have always looked for rewarding roles for myself. I greatly enjoyed volunteering at my children’s school, I built a tutoring company from the ground up and ran it successfully for a number of years, and I am a freelance book editor. The common threads in my life’s pursuits have been a drive to help others and a need to make a difference.
And as with a polished manuscript, or a student who has aced their exam, I aim to set others up for their own success by empowering them and encouraging self-reliance. Once I position the research site for success, I proudly walk away in search of the next challenge.
